So. I got to go on another food review again! π This time, we went to The Bibo, which is an Italian restaurant on West 4th in Kitsilano. The food was incredible. And I think the most amazing thing. (Okay, the two most amazing things) 1. The food was INCREDIBLE. They source most of their ingredients (tomatoes, basil, olive oil, cheese) from Italy. Talk about authentic, eh. and 2. The owner, Lorenzo, is INTENSELY passionate about food. I think listening to people talk about their passion is one of the most inspiring things ever.
Toward the end of our meal, an Italian woman actually came up to Lorenzo and started speaking in Italian. Lorenzo told us that it was common- Italian people telling him how glad they are for real Italian food that they can enjoy in Vancouver now π
I really like the framed TV.
Cured beef with arugula and parm.
The wood oven π
Tomatoes, mozzarella and porcini mushrooms (also from Italy)
And of course, tiramisu. Omg. Can this please be my diet staple from now on? Please?
I think this review may have been one of my favourites, just because of the concept (introducing North Americans to authentic Italian dining)- and the awesome food of course! This only reaffirms my INTENSE desire to travel to Europe. Italy is now a must-see π
