I have loved ballet ever since I was a child, and have been following the ballerina project on Facebook for a while. So recently, I thought it would be really cool if I tried my own interpretation on the theme. I collaborated with a handful of ballerinas in the Vancouver area, and have been showcasing the photos both on Facebook and Tumblr, under the name ‘A Ballet Affair.’
This is a personal side project that I’ve been contemplating for a while, and I am glad to say I finally got the ball rolling. In the following months, I hope to collaborate with more ballet dancers in the Vancouver area. I’m also open to the idea of photographing in other cities in the future 🙂
No blog post is really complete without a photo, so here’s a photo of a tag that I stamped :] I’m thinking of possibly using these as business cards. Hand stamping each individual letter is quite the task though… :/ But I can proudly say that each one is unique! The links to the Facebook and Tumblr pages are on the photo, or you can go here to see the Facebook page, and here to see the Tumblr blog.
I would love to hear what you think of my new project :]

Wow! That’s so cool, Sherry! I just checked out the Tumblr page – love that I’ve actually been to many of the locations you used! Can’t wait to see more!
Wow! I recently did the same thing in Windsor, ON. It’s awesome to see different interpretations of the theme. Awesome job Sherry!
My heart melted a little when I saw your photos…I have always been in awe of ballet and ballerinas. Your photos make me wish I never quit ballet when I was a kid!! Keep it up Sherry!!
